I also found on the internet in december 2005 some more historical info about a street in Gandino (a small place near Bergamo), called Vicolo Rottigni (Rottigni Alley)
Rottigni family come from Peia (another small burg, once joined with Gandino, link with history in italian is here). The family was part of a group of families owing their richness to wool clothes trading.
Some remembered names from this family are a General of Austrian Army, don Giovanni Rottigni (apostolic protonotary and parish priest of Gandino from 1631 to 1664) and Pietro Rottigni (1764-1821), brilliant politician and friend of Ugo Foscolo.
